ill thoughts after the 9.11 attack

People have had ill thoughts concerning the 9. attack and I like to share some more thoughts about that.

It is very easy to “reason” that I am right about that. It is very unlikely that someone from Norway communicated words about use of passenger airplanes as attack method to someone in the Middle east before 9.11, and in that way inspired someone from the Middle East to attack America in such a way. The most important reason for that is that Norwegians, including me, had no motive to attack America.

A second reason is that it is very easy to reason that the motive of the 9,11 attack was a matter of war.  Ask yourself the question, even if unthinkable: What would it take for you to kill someone or to participate in “actions” that led to death of 1, 100s or 1000s of people.
Except for in war, where people are ordered to kill, it would take extremely much and you may not even be able to imagine that you could do something like that, because you may not have experienced loss of someone in war or in other ways, and may not have experienced something that would make you want to do something like that. Even if you imagine you would do something extraordinary if something extraordinary happened”, you cannot know how you actually would react if something extraordinary happened. It is normally not emotions and thoughts that determine our behaviour but laws, rules,  “learnt” behaviour and that we normally like, understand or respect each other also when we are different. It is more likely that people help each other than harm each other in a society.
Killing someone would normally have big consequences for oneself and for people killed. Another thing is emotions and “short” thoughts everyone can have. Thinking or saying, for example, that a person should have been “shot for stupidity” in a very “annoyed moment” is not the same as actually wanting to kill a person. People can say, think and also write things without actually meaning what is said or written. Authors do it all the time in their novels and books. Sometimes inspired by true stories. Sometimes just from imagination.

Had the 9.11 attack been about a date as reference to a Porche 911, and if a Norwegian had been involved, the 9.11 attack would have happened on 9th November because people in Norway write dates in another order than Americans. In Norway 9.11 means 9th November.

A third reason, which is the most obvious reason,  is that it is very easy to reason that  words were not spread by a normal person 3-6 months prior to the attack but by someone working for a state authority.

There are obvious reasons for why a short text on a Norwegian stockalk, deleted few hours after it was written 3-6 months before the attack was irrelevant when it comes to how words may have spread. It is very unlikely that a very few Norwegian readers who may have read such a text had a chance and capability to communicate such words to someone in the Middle East with a capacity or capability to find someone willing to carry out such an attack. Users of stocktalk were normal people, and if someone from stocktalk had tried to influence on someone in the Middle east prior to 9.11 the person would have been revealed and caught immeditately.

I am a normal person and never communicated such words to anyone else than to people working for the Norwegian authority POT, immediatelty after I had deleted a stocktalk text being about such risk.

Ask yourself the question, even if it is unthinkable: If you wanted to attack a country in such a way how would you do it? You would find it would be very difficult, next to impossible, to succeed with that. “99.9999 percent” of people who had tried to make something like that happened would get caught almost immediately. Maybe unless you had very special information, that only a few people normally working for secret services or police authorities may have an access to. You would have no idea who to contact not to get caught in a process of finding the “right people”, and had you tried to convince someone to participate in something like that you would have been caught. Had you contacted a pilot about such a plan it is more unlikely than “99.9999” percent that the pilot had not reported you “immediately” to a police authority or to another authority to ensure you got a proper kind of help or correction immediately.

What is likely to have happened was either that someone who worked for the police authority “POT” that received my message, that was the authority in Norway to consider risks of terrorism, in a smaller scale, on Norwegian soil, did something meant as a preventive measure that made words about possible attack method with passenger airplanes to spread.

What also may have happened, which may even be more likely, was that the email server of POT was monitored by a foreign intelligence service, and that someone working for that intelligence services spread a thought to someone in one or more other countries based on details in the email POT received from me. I think that is most likely because it is wellknown that intelligence services spy at each other. People working for such authorities are also among the few people who would be able to influence on people in a way that could have caused such an attack. But even among them it is very likely a person would get caught in a process of trying to make such an attack happen.
Only a very few people, like state leaders, would be able to attack a country in such a way without being caught before.

The motive and what triggered the 9.11 attack was undoubtably anger caused in the Middle east by the February strikes against targets in Iraq by decision of American and British authorities in 2001. The anger was strengthened by emotions from the Iraq/Kuwait war 10 years before, and probably also by the identity of at least one person killed in the February strikes. May be a son of a state leader.

Had the message POT received from me been handled 100% correctly, and if risks had been understood 100%, it would have had a preventive effect. One may also say that it was surprising that preventive measures had not already been taken, because there has always been a risk of that airplanes could be used in such a way (even if very, very small), and that the American and British authority that took the decision did not understand well enough risks related to the February strikes.

Sending an email to an authority, that works to prevent bad things from happening, with text enouraging people working for the authority to consider risks related to something is no crime, and I did nothing that make someone “hack” POT or me.
